man's central heating emanates from a grate that as of late has grown cold he wonders if its still worth changing or if he's gotten too old safety comes in numbers but he always sleeps alone and he speaks into the silence as if the silence were a phone I ask who's on the other line and he looks at me as if I should have known he says its Jesus they say he frees us and we have nothing of our own man stands with sunken eyes and a furrow on his brow he says hey guy why don't you tell me where you're coming from or where you think you are now cause everything has a beginning and everything has an end you ask me how I ended up here how do you know this isn't where I begin cause I got a skylight without a lock I use the sun as my wall clock when you step outside you should thank your God that I never make you knock sometimes its not what you do but the point of view that is part of you
